Business improvements on Charfleets Estate
CHARFLEETS businesses are being given an opportunity to help shape the future of their industrial estate.
The Castle Point Regeneration Partnership believes businesses on the estate will benefit from the Roscommon Way extension and wants to help businesses use the extension as a springboard for improvement.
With funding from the Department of Communities and Local Government, the Partnership wants to create a Charfleets Business Initiative, which could result in infrastructure improvements, improved security and changes to make the estate more environmentally-friendly.
Cllr Norman Smith, Castle Point Borough Council's cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: "This is a great opportunity for Charfleets businesses to shape the estate and to enhance their future business prospects. We need to ensure businesses make the most of this opportunity, for their own benefit and for the wider community."
To kick-start the initiative - which would run for three years - businesses are being invited to a meeting at the C & K Bar, Tavistock House, Charfleets Road, Charfleets at 2.30pm on Monday, June 23.
The Regeneration Partnership includes Castle Point Borough Council, Essex County Council, Canvey Island Town Council, the RSPB, Government representatives and regional regeneration bodies like Thames Gateway South Essex.
