Castle Point Borough Council is committed to showcasing the best of local business, and will continue to do so again in 2012, as the Mayors Award returns for its fifth year of competition - Recognising Business Excellence in Castle Point.
In April 2011, Canvey based Thames Group, which supports statutory ambulance services, NHS Trusts and private patients, were winners of the prestigious award for business excellence.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural Apprentice of the Year award, which was keenly contested, and won jointly by Rebecca Allgood (The Hair Studio) and Kiera Shelley (KJ Green Opticians), the Mayor is keen to build on this success as the Apprentice award returns for a second year, and a higher number of entries for the 2012 prize are anticipated.

The search for the outstanding businesses of 2012 is now underway, and The Mayor, Cllr Jackie Govier, in conjunction with Castle Point Business Forum and the Federation of Small Businesses, is now inviting applications from its local business community for both awards. If you have a great story of achievement or if you wish to nominate a local business/apprentice that you feel deserves to be recognised then please contact us on 01268 882345, info@cpbusinessforum.co.uk, or write to the Council Offices in Thundersley.
The winners will be announced on Saturday 31 March 2012, and will be crowned by the Mayor at the annual Civic Dinner.
